here we are in gorgeous santa barbara! we stayed at the casa del mar inn, which is a darling bed and breakfast really close to the santa barbara beaches. the staff at the b&b was so great, offering us a lot of information, as well as a bottle of wine (can’t complain about that!) the inn had gorgeous landscaping and really pretty flowers (our room was right near where i am standing above!) when we checked into our room, i had a whole packet from visit santa barbara waiting with all kinds of great information and tips inside. we only had one full day in santa barbara, so we wanted to fit in as much fun as possible! in the morning, we woke up at the b&b and walked over to wheel fun rentals to rent a surrey for a few hours. a surrey is basically a 2 person bike with a bench (you can sit next to each other and pedal!) we had a blast pedaling up and down the boardwalk checking out the santa barbara beaches. once we had enough fun on the boardwalk, we decided to hit the downtown area. santa barbara has a trolley tour that goes all throughout dowtown santa barbara (and more!). it is great for sightseeing, because you can hop on and hop off whenever you want. we took the trolley all the way up to the santa barbara mission and the museum of natural history. tony loves history, so when were deciding which museums to check out, these two were a no-brainer. both museums were extremely interesting, but i especially loved the history museum because right now they have sue! sue is “the largest, most complete, and best preserved Tyrannosaurus rex ever discovered” and she is pretty amazing! i also loved the butterflies alive exhibit. one of the butterflies even landed on me, so i think butterflies alive really loved me too! see some of the fun below! visit santa barbara provided us with passes for several museums, as well as a trolley tour pass, and a surrey rental in exchange for this review. as always, all opinions are my own.
