my sister mallory just moved to san francisco to start her first job. i decided to plan a little 3 day trip to visit her before she started work. tony decided not to come, which turned out for the best because it gave us sister time alone. i think she was worried now that i’m married we won’t spend a lot of time just the two of us. (boy is she wrong!)
i got in very early on friday morning. mallory picked me up at the airport and we went straight to her place. she lives in this really cute apartment in dogpatch. she has the most amazing rooftop.
with adventure hats on, we headed out to explore the land’s end trail. we went to the sutro baths and also the labyrinth. it was extremely windy so you can see both of us with hands on our hats trying to keep them on. adventure hats can be very high maintenance.
the labyrinth is a rock maze (for lack of a better term). the rocks are organized in 11 concentric circles that you wind your way through to make it to the center. mallory went down there to try it out and it was very entertaining. i am very impressed that something like this can stay unbothered in a public area. go san fran.
we drove to the painted ladies so i could geek out about the “full house” houses. we sat on a blanket and enjoyed the san fran people watching. also it should be noted that san francisco has the best september weather ever. they refer to september as their summer because its so sunny and beautiful compared to the rest of the year (lots of fog!). all the young people are in the parks laying out and having drinks. the parks are definitely the place to be in september.
we had beers on her rooftop (so gorg!) and then we went to off the grid, a food truck festival in san francisco. we loved the tacos and the mexican corn. san francisco knows how to do mexican! and of course i love all mexican food (especially tacos!!)
