we’ve been on a hunt for a chair for the new condo for awhile now. something comfortable but also modern. multiple people have told me that i must go to the room and board outlet. i love room and board because it’s modern, and also really well made, but the prices at the regular store just won’t work for our budget. i was thrilled to find out that they also had an outlet.
the outlet is is in golden valley and is only open saturday 10-4 and sunday 12-4. the building is a warehouse on a weird frontage road that would be hard to find if you didn’t know about it. we got there on sunday right before it opened and here is the line. note that we could have gotten there earlier, but the day before was the 4th of july and we were pretty slow moving that day.
the line was worth it. we found a perfect chair (husband approved!) and it was about $800 cheaper than the one at the regular store. the outlet had tons of sofas, chairs, tables, accessories, and really unbelievable deals. some of the items are scratched, dented, display items, etc. but a lot are just custom orders that got returned (that was the case with our chair). make sure to check the item for imperfections before you buy.
the only issue was how to get it home. delivery is a flat $79, but there was no way were doing that for a $200 chair. we have a small car that we tried to fit it into, but the chair was too big. luckily it was tony’s sister lauren to the rescue. she loaned us her suv for a few hours and we got it home. we will definitely be back for you room and board outlet!
