the farmhouse table.
right after we got back from our honeymoon, we started a farmhouse dining room table workshop with sawdust savvy. the owners, lindsay and annie, were amazing teachers and taught us how to build a farmhouse table from start to finish. once we finished the classes, we started building our table. as we do not have a garage or driveway, (gotta love city living), we built it right inside our condo! so exciting to think of all of the memories we will make around this table. kids eating and doing ... the great minnesota get together
the minnesota state fair is maybe the greatest day of the entire year. greatest day of the summer for sure. our state fair is the second largest in the country (i think), but obviously the best. at least we think so. it is one of our annual traditions to go just the two of us, and we look forward to it all summer. this year we went on opening day (a thursday) and this may be a new part of the tradition because it was way less crowded and much cleaner. some of the highlights are below! ... omg i cut off all my hair. about 8 inches. after growing my hair long for the wedding, i was ready to get rid of it. all of it. i was so. sick. of. this. hair. i was telling this to someone, and they were like "oh yeah, a wife chop. all brides do that." then after i thought about it, almost all my married friends cut their hair off after their weddings, so i guess it's a thing. get super stressed out planning a wedding and then cut all your hair off. it's kind of like your married britney ... changing your last name to your husband’s is one of the most frustrating processes of all time. at least for those of us in minneapolis (maybe it’s easier elsewhere!) below is a checklist with some notes i made along the way! marriage certificate: receive your marriage certificate! we had ours within two weeks of the wedding. social security card: go to the social security office. i got there around 8:45 (it opens at 9), and the line was wrapped around the building. security said the ...
