Rosie was born on July 27, 2019 at 10:54am. She weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. I wanted to share her birth story so that I will always remember one of the greatest days of my life. Rosie’s birth story begins on July 26th when I reached 39 weeks. I had my weekly appointment with my OB that morning. I was about 3 centimeters dilated and partially effaced. We decided to go ahead and do a membrane sweep, which is sort of a “natural induction” method. It doesn’t always work, ... View the Post
Third Trimester Bumpdate
I had my 38-week appointment on Thursday and found out I am already 3 centimeters dilated! This means that baby really could be here at any time. I thought I ought to get a third trimester bumpdate on the blog just in case I don’t have very much longer in my third trimester! Glucose Test (and Fail) At around 28 weeks you do a glucose screening to check for gestational diabetes. You drink this drink that has 50 grams of sugar in it and then they check your blood sugar. Well, I ended up ... View the Post
Best of Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Public Access
I kind of can't believe how much is still in-stock for public access for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale? In our childbirth class, the instructor was always reiterating that the goal of the labor experience was “healthy mom, healthy baby.” I thought, that’s a pretty good birth plan. Do what I must do for a healthy mom and a healthy baby. After all, plans never really work out, especially birth plans! To me, is it even worth it to make a birth plan knowing that it’s likely going to be a lot different than you thought? The Actual Birth I ... View the Post

I won't pretend to be an expert on baby registry must-haves! Once the baby is here, I'm sure I'll have an opinion on which baby products to buy and which ones to skip. For now, these are the items that have been recommended to me over and over by family, friends, and readers! You will find all of these items on my registry (link is here if you're curious!) We registered on Babylist, which I highly recommend because you can register for items from literally anywhere. On ours you will see ... View the Post
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is Live
I just did my early access shopping in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I had a budget in mind and really stuck to it! If you read my last post, you know I was on the hunt for nursing-friendly and comfortable items because I will be on maternity leave for most of this Fall. What I Bought During Early Access 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 I ordered this tee in both the white and the mustard. Last year I got two colors of this tee (last year's version was only slightly different) and loved ... View the Post
