this weekend i was in madison for my friend alexis’ bachelorette party. alexis and i lived together for a year in madison and then two years in chicago. needless to say, she is one of my very greatest friends. i was so honored to have her in our wedding in june, and i am so excited to see her get married in january! she and her groom gordy are such a perfect couple. they met on valentine’s day in 2013 when she and i were living together in chicago. it was really fun to watch them fall in ... adam and melanie.
tony and i were back in chicago this weekend for my friend (and grad school roommate) melanie’s wedding. her (now) husband adam is actually from scotland and wore a kilt for their wedding(!!). tony and i agreed after this weekend that all men should wear kilts instead of tuxes. it was kind of amazing. my favorite part of the weekend was catching up with our friends that live too far away to see all the time. this is the main perk of being at the age when all your friends get married. the ... we’ll always have madison.
madison will always be special for us. we met here in march of 2012. my life hasn’t been the same since. we went back for the weekend to get away just the two of us and watch the badger game. even though the badgers lost, we still had the best time in the city where we first fell in love. we wrote our names in this kk booth back in 2012. we always sit there when we go back and visit. here are the highlights. most of it involves food. ate chicken tenders at the kk did lots of ... san francisco day 3.

san francisco day 2.
on our second day we went hiking in muir woods. this is the national monument near san francisco that has all the giant redwoods. i had seen so many photos of muir woods and told mallory that this was on the top of my list for the trip. let me tell you, it was breathtaking. also, somehow we ended up going on a free admission day (score!) it was pretty crowded but still amaze! these trees you guys. so. tall. tree huggers. after we finished the hike, we sat ... san francisco day 1.
my sister mallory just moved to san francisco to start her first job. i decided to plan a little 3 day trip to visit her before she started work. tony decided not to come, which turned out for the best because it gave us sister time alone. i think she was worried now that i’m married we won’t spend a lot of time just the two of us. (boy is she wrong!) i got in very early on friday morning. mallory picked me up at the airport and we went straight to her place. she lives in this really cute ... View the Post
