Shop This Outfit Self-Doubt is something that affects so many people, and in the social media age, it’s more prevalent than ever. Over the weekend, the Minneapolis Bloggers Union met and had a very open and stimulating conversation on the topic of self-doubt. I had the privilege of moderating this discussion with Adrianna of Sincerely Ami and Vanessa of Nessa Bess. I learned a lot from the two panelists as well as from the other bloggers in the room. I want to share the tips from ... View the Post
A Day at the Apple Orchard + My Favorite Apple Recipe
Fall is absolutely our favorite season and we look forward to it all year. We love the weather, the food, the football, but mostly, we love our Fall traditions. Apple picking has been a tradition of ours since 2014 (see previous posts from 2015, 2016, and 2017!) Every year we go to an orchard to pick apples and then spend the next few weeks drinking apple cider, baking an apple recipe (or two!), and cuddling up by the fire. On Saturday we went out to Deardorff Orchards in Waconia for our annual ... View the Post
Minneapolis Monthly: St. Genevieve
St. Genevieve, located at 50th and Bryant, is led by chef/owner Steve Brown (who is also the chef behind Tilia). It’s a Parisian-style restaurant, or buvette (if you’re feeling French). They serve brunch, lunch, and dinner and have a really good happy hour too. My favorites on the menu are the mussels and the frites. Blanched in water and fried twice, these frites are the best fries ever! They are very well known for their tartines (open-face sandwiches), like the tartine madame pictured. Most ... View the Post
5 Favorite Foods at the Minnesota State Fair (2018!)
The Minnesota State Fair is the highlight of our Summer (if not the entire year!) Tony says that State Fair day is actually his favorite day of the year and that it is better than Christmas. I'm not quite sure it's pretty than Christmas, but it's pretty great. This year I went three times (not a record, but a good number). I got to enjoy the fair first with my sister and her boyfriend, then with my team from work, and then with Tony (which is my favorite way to experience the fair!) The ... View the Post
Minneapolis Monthly: Fairgrounds Coffee
Fairgrounds Coffee recently opened in the North Loop and this is exactly what we have been missing in our neighborhood. We have been needing quick-service restaurant where we can get quick sandwiches, a quick breakfast, etc. Don't get me wrong, we love the restaurants in our neighborhood (we have some amazing restaurants!) but there aren't many that you can get in-and-out in 20 minutes and for $10. Tony and I stopped in here one weekend morning and it was hopping! The North Loop is pretty dead ... View the Post
5 Ways to be More Productive and Get More Out of Each Day
I get asked pretty frequently, “when do you have time to do that?” or “how are you able to do all of this?” With a full-time job as a manager in finance, an amazing husband, a blog, and many other commitments, I’ve got a lot on my plate. And we haven’t even added kids into the mix! The truth is that I don’t get it all done. Ask my husband! There are things that I absolutely do not prioritize: cooking dinner every night, keeping the house clean, etc. That being said, I have a few tips that work ... View the Post
