ella turns 5.
today ella turned 5. it seems like just yesterday that i rescued her and brought her home. she was just 10 pounds of black puppy fluff. most people find it strange to adopt a dog while in college. i kind of agree. but i am so so glad that i did. she changed my whole world and brought so much joy to my life. we have moved together from madison to chicago and on to minneapolis, and have an extremely strong bond. an unhealthy bond (let’s be honest). i enjoy spoiling her and giving her pretty much ... we spent the weekend doing some of our favorite fall things. we went to the farmers market and picked up some fall vegetables and flowers. we got sunflowers (one of my absolute favorites) and also mums for the patio (mums are generally the only flower that survive october). we spent some time on the patio in the sun with our farmer's market finds in disbelief about how beautiful the fall weather has been. this is definitely an october for the books. ... apples.
over the weekend we went to the aamodt’s apple farm in stillwater with tony’s parents and picked a few bags of apples to bring home. this place was amazing! apple barn, apple donuts, a band, and they have vineyards too! there were far more apples on the ground than in the trees but we still made it home with a good amount. i made apple crisp and apple pie bars and used the apples a ton in my cooking. fall is by far my favorite season. happy fall y’all! ... on our 3 month wedding anniversary, we re-created a bit of our special day. we went to church at the basilica. every time I walk in there now, I think of how beautiful our wedding day was and how meaningful and special the ceremony was to us. then we went to angel food bakery (where we got those amazing donuts from the wedding). we shared a mexican chocolate donut, which reminded us of our beautiful honeymoon. ...
