we got an 8 foot tree. we have 11 foot ceilings. this should have worked out. the place we decided to put our tree (in front of the window) has this air duct that hangs down a couple feet (loft life). tony had to do some trimming to the top. next year we might not go as grand with the size of the tree. and next year we might be able to actually have a tree topper. my secret santa last year (my amazing sister-in-law jess) got us this cute tree skirt last year for christmas. it was so fun ... oh christmas tree oh christmas tree.
tony and i love a real tree. we love the entire process. we love going to the tree farm, searching for the perfect one, cutting it down, pulling it on a sled, and getting it home. i also can't get enough of the smell. last year we we went to krueger's christmas trees and we thought it was kind of awesome so we went back. i noticed last year that krueger’s was dog-friendly, so i filed that away and made sure to bring ella this year. she had an absolute blast. i think she wishes we lived on ... adam and melanie.
tony and i were back in chicago this weekend for my friend (and grad school roommate) melanie’s wedding. her (now) husband adam is actually from scotland and wore a kilt for their wedding(!!). tony and i agreed after this weekend that all men should wear kilts instead of tuxes. it was kind of amazing. my favorite part of the weekend was catching up with our friends that live too far away to see all the time. this is the main perk of being at the age when all your friends get married. the ...
