this weekend we had a party for the kentucky derby! tony kept calling it our "first annual derby party" so i think we may be having one every year! we requested everyone "dress to impress" in their finest derby attire (big hats encouraged!). our friends really got into it. so did we. tony pulled out his seer sucker suit, and the hat i am wearing i've had since i was six years old! to make it even more fun, tony and i setup a horse wagering board for our friends to bet on the horses. because the ... life lately.
these are just some photos of what we've been up to lately! lacrosse season started the day we got back from vacation, so tony has been super busy. tony is the offensive coordinator for anoka high school (go tornadoes!) i get to as many games as i can, but it's nice to have a little "me-time" too while he is coaching. other than that, we have been hanging out at a lot of local breweries, enjoying some new restaurants, and loving the weather! check out more photos and updates below! tony's ... minnesota winter.
i know this sounds crazy, but we actually really love the winters in minnesota. if we feel like going out and braving the cold, there are endless fun things for us to do. tony's favorite activity is skating at one of the outdoor rinks and ella just goes nuts playing in the snow. and me? i love how the city looks in the snow and i love walking around our neighborhood and just looking at it (that sounded kind of silly when i read it out loud, but when it snows our city is just so beautiful!) the ... donut you know how much i love you?
in case you missed it from our wedding, we actually served donuts instead of cake to our wedding guests (we really love donuts!) side note: i highly recommend this to anyone getting married because it was a total hit and doubled as a favor! but anyway, we usually go to angel food when we want donuts (they made the donuts for our wedding) but on sunday i decided to trying making some myself. we got the pans as a wedding gift, and of course it has taken us this long to use them (same story with ...
