I had my 38-week appointment on Thursday and found out I am already 3 centimeters dilated! This means that baby really could be here at any time. I thought I ought to get a third trimester bumpdate on the blog just in case I don’t have very much longer in my third trimester! Glucose Test (and Fail) At around 28 weeks you do a glucose screening to check for gestational diabetes. You drink this drink that has 50 grams of sugar in it and then they check your blood sugar. Well, I ended up ... View the Post
My Birth Plan
Well, my birth plan is that I really don’t have one! In our childbirth class, the instructor was always reiterating that the goal of the labor experience was “healthy mom, healthy baby.” I thought, that’s a pretty good birth plan. Do what I must do for a healthy mom and a healthy baby. After all, plans never really work out, especially birth plans! To me, is it even worth it to make a birth plan knowing that it’s likely going to be a lot different than you thought? The Actual Birth I ... View the Post
Baby Registry Must Haves (From Readers!)
I won't pretend to be an expert on baby registry must-haves! Once the baby is here, I'm sure I'll have an opinion on which baby products to buy and which ones to skip. For now, these are the items that have been recommended to me over and over by family, friends, and readers! You will find all of these items on my registry (link is here if you're curious!) We registered on Babylist, which I highly recommend because you can register for items from literally anywhere. On ours you will see ... View the Post
What I Packed in My Hospital Bag
I am 37 weeks this week which means that baby could be here any minute! The doctor seems to think that baby will arrive sometime in the next week or two! After our doctor's appointment last week (which already showed some progress!), I figured that I better get a hospital bag ready. I've been doing lots of research on what to pack in a hospital bag and let me tell you, my list was LONG. I was going over my list with Tony and he though it was wayyyy too much stuff! I eliminated a bunch of items ... View the Post
Changing Table Must-Haves + How It’s Organized
I am very excited about today's post on our changing table! I haven't quite finished the nursery yet, but the changing table is all set up! Because our small living situation is kind of unique, I thought it would be interesting to show the products we have chosen to include in our tiny nursery and also how we set it up! Let's get started with the must-haves! Changing Table We live in a pretty small condo, so a small changing table was also in order. We decided on this dresser/changing ... View the Post
Work Wear Wednesday: Leopard Maternity Dress
Happy Wednesday! I haven't posted about work wear in a while, so I thought, what better occasion than a #workwearwednesday post! I've posted a lot of pregnancy looks over the course of the past 9 months, but I haven't posted much that I would consider professional. As many of you know, I work in corporate finance. Our dress code is 'dress for your day,' and I typically wear a ruched dress (which I have been posting a lot of) and a jean jacket or cardigan. But on occasion, I do have to dress up! ...
