happy birthday to me! february 13th was my 26th birthday but we’ve been celebrating for about two weeks (of course!) tony is constantly amazed at how i stretch my birthday out so far. in my mind, i don’t see how you can’t. we had one day with tony’s family, one day with my mom, had dinner with friends, and of course we celebrated just the two of us (that can’t be done all in one day, right?!)
tony’s mom threw me a birthday party with an “alissa blu” theme.
the party was mainly outside in the snow. we played “snow twister” and it was just as funny as it sounds. perks of a february birthday! thanks to tony’s mom for planning!
his and hers.
the night before the big day, we celebrated my birthday with some of our friends. the group went to a workout class and then went out to dinner. we were home watching tv on the couch by 10pm! tony and i were laughing just at how much our lives have changed in the last few years. three years ago, tony threw me a huge birthday party at a bar in chicago where it was all-you-can-drink and we don’t remember getting home (but that’s a different story). but if this is what 26 looks like, i think i really like it.
somehow i only ended up with one photo from my birthday brunch with my mom at birchwood cafe. we both got the savory waffle. amaze!
we went to spoon and stable for dinner (finally!!) and let me tell you, it’s all that it’s hyped up to be. we didn’t have a reservation, but we walked in and waited for a table in the bar area. i actually think the bar is the better spot here because we got to order off both the bar menu and the regular menu (pro tip!) the pork chop and the creamed spinach with the cheese curds on top are the best ever. do not walk, run to spoon and stable! they also brought me a giant cotton candy because it was my birthday. i think it’s safe to say, 26 is going to be sweet!
