Our twins’ first birthday party theme was ‘twinkle twinkle little star how ONEderful you both are!’ I saw this theme on Pinterest when I was pregnant with the babies and I have been holding onto it since. I love how the word ‘twin’ is in twinkle and I also love how the ‘ONEderful’ is a play on words. It’s also just such a sweet song and story for a first birthday party.
Details From Our Twins’ First Birthday Party
First, I bought these ‘twinkle twinkle’ banners, and then I used those colors and everything to plan the rest of the party. You can customize the size and color of the letters and the color of the string. I wanted the ‘twin’ in twinkle and the ‘one’ to be blue and really stand out. I was really pleased with the quality of the banners, timeliness, etc.
Next, I found these invitations, and I knew they were perfect! They go right along with the banners that I had already ordered, plus the colors were perfect and I love an easy digital download. You are able to customize all of the text and a few of the colors too.
I rented this entire setup from Hooray Lets Play. We had 13 littles ones at the party and it was so nice to have an area to keep them entertained (and also safe!) This company does the setup and takedown, and they are so great to work with. I’ve rented from them twice now! I added these gold star balloons to tie in our theme.
The balloon arch is the same arch that we used for their first birthday photo shoot (our photographer let us keep it!) Our photographer made the arch and so I’m not sure the kit she used? This kit looks super similar! I know she added these stars from Target to it! For the high chairs, I added these cute ‘one’ banners to each highchair.
The treats are always my favorite part! We got the smash cakes at a local grocery store. Ask for a two-tiered 5 inch round cake with no decoration (no piping, etc.) It’s only $12 at our grocery store, so this is a super cheap way to do it! I added these cake toppers to each cake. My mom made the sugar cookies and the cake pops! She will do custom orders if you are local! I asked her to also individually box cookies to use for the favors for all of the kids.
I saw this idea on Pinterest when our daughter turned one so I wanted to do the same for our twins’ first birthday party. It’s so sweet to have the guest list in these books and be able to look back on this really special day!
