I did a poll on Instagram the other day to see what moms REALLY want for their Mother’s Day gift and I wasn’t at all shocked at the results. Most moms either wanted time alone to relax or they wanted to spend time with their family. It got me thinking about how moms really just want something thoughtful. They want to see that you thought of them, and planned something that THEY want. Keep in mind that what they want might be to totally check out!
Here are five thoughtful Mother’s Day gift ideas that you can do at the last minute. Everything you need for these gifts can be ordered online (and Amazon Prime!) or purchased at the grocery store.
1 – DIY a Gallery Wall
I have this set of 5 gallery wall frames in our house. It’s on sale for $28 right now! Print photos in black and white (either 8.5×11 or 12×16) and fill these frames for Mom. Our gallery wall has 9 frames (in a 3 by 3 square). I recommend ordering two sets of these frames so you can have nine in your gallery. I think that is such a creative gift idea and one that is thoughtful and also really easy. If you need more gallery wall tips, check out my post here.
2 – Fill a Bathtub Caddy with Spa Goodies
This bathtub caddy is expandable and can adjust to any size bath tub. Grab this bathtub caddy and then order some of her favorite bath products. If you’re not sure, here are some bath salts and a foaming bubble bath. Then add a glass of wine, flowers, a book, iPad, etc. Whatever she is into! Extra points if the bath is drawn and her caddy all setup and ready!
3 – Buy All of the Ingredients to Bake a Recipe Together
Decide on a recipe that you want to bake with mom, buy all of the ingredients, and then bake it together. This is a very fun and very easy gift idea! Put all of the ingredients in this cute bread proofing basket and tie a bow on it! You don’t need the basket for your recipe, but it’s baking themed and cute! Maybe throw in some new baking utensils or new oven mitts!
4 – Plan a Picnic and Bring All of Her Favorites
Order this cute picnic basket and fill it with meats, cheeses, fruit, wine, and all of her favorite things. Then take mom on a picnic! Mother’s Day usually brings nice weather and it’s a great time to get outside and enjoy family time. I personally would this!
5 – Buy Flowers and Gardening Supplies
I asked my mom for this for Mother’s Day! We are going to a gardening store and picking out some flowers and supplies for my house. If you know what she likes, go ahead and buy some flowers (Home Depot is a great place to look). If not, put together a little gardening basket and then take her to pick out some flowers. I think it would be cute to throw in a fun watering can and some new gardening tools.
