Our backyard needs some TLC! We have a ton of outdoor space (which we love!) but we really need the right outdoor furniture to be able to enjoy it. Because we came from a condo downtown, we didn’t have any outdoor furniture to use in our new house. I am excited that today I am partnering with Wayfair to show you how I would design our backyard bungalow. Here are some of the pieces that I am loving for our outdoor space. I want natural woods, a lot of black and white, and I love boxwoods!
Design Ideas for our Backyard Bungalow
There are four main spaces in our backyard bungalow – the deck, below the deck, the pool, and the fire pit. I want to have four distinct areas that we can enjoy and spend time in. Here is my inspiration for all of the areas.
1 – Outdoor Dining on the Deck
I want our deck to be a place we can eat, grill, and have company over. I love this wood dining table because of the natural wood color and because it is traditional but has modern lines. These patio chairs would pair perfectly with this table. They are super stylish and I love the black and white. To bring in more of the black and white that I love, I want this black and white striped outdoor rug. To complete the look, I would get this pitcher and this seagrass tray.
2 – Lounge Area Below the Deck
I want this area to be the ultimate lounge area. It’s the only area with a lot of shade, so I anticipate hanging out here a lot with Rosie. I would love to get either a 4-piece or 6-piece seating group (I can’t decide if I love this black set or this wooden set?) The other important design element for me is a swing and I love this teak porch swing. I would get some of these black and white throw pillows for the chairs and this cute bolster pillow for the swing! To finish the design, I would add these boxwood topiaries (do you like this one or this one better?!)
3 – Laying Out By the Pool
This area is pretty simple, we just need a place to lay out! I really like the look of these white chaise lounge chairs. They are simple and very sleek looking. To add some shade, I would get these gorgeous fringe umbrellas (will need a cool stand too!) I like these bamboo style garden stools to put your drink while you’re by the pool. Last but not least, I’ve got to have some black and white beach towels!
4 – Adirondacks by the Fire Pit
We recently built this fire pit in our backyard for get-togethers with friends and neighbors. We love Adirondack style chairs, and Wayfair has this great 12 piece set that I have my eye on. It has chairs, tables, and a few foot rests as well.
