I won’t pretend to be an expert on baby registry must-haves! Once the baby is here, I’m sure I’ll have an opinion on which baby products to buy and which ones to skip. For now, these are the items that have been recommended to me over and over by family, friends, and readers!
You will find all of these items on my registry (link is here if you’re curious!) We registered on Babylist, which I highly recommend because you can register for items from literally anywhere. On ours you will see items from Amazon and Target, but also other smaller retailers.
– Wubbanub – These pacifiers are a combination of a normal pacifier and a stuffed animal. Apparently this makes it very easy for the baby to grab and results in a lot fewer dropped pacifiers! I had to pick the elephant because they are my fave!
- My Brest Friend Nursing Pillow – I got this recommendation from EVERYONE. I heard it from family, from other bloggers, and then heard it at both my breastfeeding class and my breastfeeding group at work. I am even going to bring it in my hospital bag to try it out right away!
– Pampers Pure diapers – Pampers are recommended over and over again from lots of parents I have spoken to (Snugglers, Swaddlers, etc.). But you know I am all about the safer options, and Pampers now has the ‘Pure’ brand which is hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, and free of all of the harmful chemicals in other diapers!
- 3-in-1 Humidifier / Diffuser / Night Light – This recommendation really spoke to me because we have such a small nursery (living the loft life!) and I am always on the lookout for combo products. Instead of having a light and also a humidifier, this one can do both!
– Ubbi Diaper Pail – This was recommended over and over to me because it is easy to clean and use and doesn’t smell! I wrote even more about it over on my changing table post!
– Halo Sleepsacks – This swaddles comes HIGHLY recommended as far as a safe alternative to blankets. But moms also swear by them to getting their newborn to sleep better too! It also helps prevent the startle reflex. This is the swaddle that hospitals recommend as well.
– Boppy Newborn Lounger – I originally had the Dockatot on our registry but multiple people told me to get this pillow as it’s SO much cheaper. I know that newborns LOVE the Dockatot, but it’s a little controversial so for now, we are going to pass!
– Baby Bjorn Bouncer – This is the most recommended bouncer from other readers and bloggers. It doesn’t plug-in, you don’t need any outlets or cords and you can take it into any room. Sounds like a great option for when you are trying to shower, cook etc.
– Love to Dream Swaddle Up – Another really popular swaddle option, the ‘Love to Dream’ version swaddles the baby with their arms up. Apparently when babies wake up like they to have access to their hands to rub their cheeks or put their hands in their mouths. We got this in two different sizes.
– Uppa Baby Vista Stroller and Mesa Car Seat – This travel system is NOT CHEAP. We were both super skeptical of getting this stroller but everyone that has it says it is worth every cent. We also live in the city and all of the city moms seem to have this one because it is super light (can carry it up the stairs, etc.) and it’s super agile.
– Fisher Price Stow ‘n’ Go Bassinet – One of my best friends recommended this bassinet and I registered for it right away. Newborns only sleep in a bassinet for a few months (or so I hear) so why spend hundreds or a thousand (looking at you Snoo!) for a bassinet? This only is only $65 and I got some cute bassinet sheets to cover up the hideous pad on it.
