St. Genevieve, located at 50th and Bryant, is led by chef/owner Steve Brown (who is also the chef behind Tilia). It’s a Parisian-style restaurant, or buvette (if you’re feeling French). They serve brunch, lunch, and dinner and have a really good happy hour too. My favorites on the menu are the mussels and the frites. Blanched in water and fried twice, these frites are the best fries ever! They are very well known for their tartines (open-face sandwiches), like the tartine madame pictured. Most of the items are ‘small plates’ so I would recommend getting a variety and sharing. St. Genevieve is usually busy, so get a reservation if you can. My only complaint about this restaurant is that when St. Genevieve is full, it is very loud! Consider yourself warned, but still go if you have not been!
