Fairgrounds Coffee recently opened in the North Loop and this is exactly what we have been missing in our neighborhood. We have been needing quick-service restaurant where we can get quick sandwiches, a quick breakfast, etc. Don’t get me wrong, we love the restaurants in our neighborhood (we have some amazing restaurants!) but there aren’t many that you can get in-and-out in 20 minutes and for $10. Tony and I stopped in here one weekend morning and it was hopping! The North Loop is pretty dead until around noon typically, we sometimes don’t see a soul when walking our dog in the morning. Apparently, everyone who is out-and-about on Saturday mornings is at Fairgrounds! There were so many young families, couples, runners, you name it. It’s a great neighborhood spot for a quick bite.

I love the interior, and I actually need more time to look at every single detail. As you can tell by the name, the cafe pays tribute to the fair (which we are all obsessed with!) There were so many fun details and fair antiques.
One of the unique things about Fairgrounds is that they have coffee from all over the world, as well as local coffees. If you want Spyhouse coffee for example, they can make that for you. If you want to try a coffee from somewhere else (say Portland), they can make that for you too. They even have a number of different cold brews on tap. What an interesting concept! Why hasn’t someone thought of this? Give people varieties of coffees to choose from!
Our food was delicious! We ordered the fried egg and bacon sandwich and the scrambled egg sandwich. Both were phenomenal and pretty cheap too.
We sat out on their patio and delicious coffee and breakfast on a beautiful day in a great neighborhood. What more can you ask for?
