My obsession with Fall recipes is no secret. The seasonal dishes that include pumpkin or apples are my absolute favorite. I shared my favorite Trader Joe’s products recently here. My mom saw the post and she said, “wow that was a lot of pumpkin spice.” That pretty much sums up my Fall – a lot of pumpkin spice. I love Trader Joe’s (nothing easier than just heating their frozen items in the microwave!) but I love to cook and bake too. I have tried lots of Fall recipes over the years (most of which I have found on Pinterest). The following 10 Fall recipes are tried and true. I’ve made them multiple times and they are easy!
Pumpkin No Bake Cheesecake
This is a ‘Skinny Taste’ recipe, so it’s not actually that bad for you! If you haven’t browsed through this site, I highly recommend it. They have a lot of healthy recipes that are easy. The recipes have the nutritional information and weight watcher’s points too if. I haven’t made this recipe in a few years, but I remember it being delicious. No bake cheesecakes are so easy it’s kind of like cheating when you’re baking!
Simple Apple Cobbler
This is not the healthiest recipe out there, but it is super easy and tasty! There are just three ingredients: cake mix, butter, and apple filling. You don’t even need fresh apples to make this one. Tony loves this! You could make a version of this with any pie filling for any season. It’s definitely a good Fall recipe to have on hand.
Grown Up Apple Cider
This is my “go-to” recipe for whenever we are invited to a ‘Friendsgiving’ of sorts. Fun cocktails are not something that people usually bring, so it’s a nice addition to a potluck style party. I love hot apple cider (we even have a gallon in our fridge right now!) and this is a perfect way to kick it up a notch (if you’re 21 of course!)
Pumpkin Mug Cake
Tony and I absolutely love cake in a mug. It’s the perfect size for one person. Sometimes I hesitate to bake because I know that we will just eat it all (when we shouldn’t!) I also love that mug cakes can be made in the microwave. This recipe has a few more ingredients that some other recipes, but I think you could easily substitute a box mix for some of the ingredients and make it even easier.
Pumpkin Brownies
This Fall recipe has just two ingredients! All that is in this recipe is pumpkin puree and brownie mix. How great is that? I have to admit, these brownies do not taste like pumpkin at all, the chocolate definitely masks all pumpkin taste. That being said, it’s a great way to sneak in a healthy ingredient into brownies (great idea for the kiddos!)
Caramel Apple Spread
This is another great Fall recipe to bring to a Friendsgiving or potluck. It’s always a crowd-pleaser and people always seem to want to know what’s in the recipe. The taste of a caramel apple plus cream cheese. So what’s not to like? It’s more of a sweet dip, so definitely more in the dessert category than appetizers.
Caramel Apple Bars
Here in Minnesota, people LOVE bars. I didn’t know what a “bar” was when I moved here. “What do you mean? A brownie?” Now that I’ve lived here quite a while, I have absolutely embraced the bars! This bar recipe starts with a cake mix! Bake smarter not harder friends. Baking does not have to be a chore!
Pumpkin Puppy Chow
There’s a great story on the pumpkin puppy chow. The first time I ever made this, Ella was just a young dog. I was not yet aware of just how curious and naughty she was. She ended up eating ALL of the pumpkin puppy chow. When I discovered the empty bag, my first thought was of course, panic. After some quick research discovered that white chocolate is not toxic to dogs. Who knew?
Apple Bread
Apple cinnamon bread has become an annual tradition for the Schranks. After our trip to the apple orchard, I like to bake this apple bread. It’s delicious warmed up and with butter on it. It can be breakfast or dessert, which are the best type of baked items. You can eat it any time of day and there is no judgment!
Pumpkin Oatmeal
I’m not a big breakfast eater. During the week I just don’t give myself enough time to put together a proper breakfast. But on the weekend, cooking brunch is kind of my jam. I love to make variations on oatmeal, and pumpkin is no exception. You can really get creative here, adding any toppings you would like!
