the nordstrom anniversary sale is almost here! also called the #nsale, it’s probably the biggest sale of the year. i am an extremely loyal nordstrom customer (free shipping and free returns hello!) so when the sale rolls around i am on it.
what is so great about this sale?
most online sales are old product that retailers are trying to sell through before the next season. not a secret right? the #nsale has brand-new fall and winter items. and all for a fraction of the cost. after the sale is over, the items go back to full price. but all of the good items sell out. extremely fast.
here is a link to the catalog so you can see some of the items i am talking about. it is the perfect time to stalk up on boots, sweaters, jeans, purses, blazers, and all of the must-have items for fall!
here are the dates you need to know:
- july 13th: early access for card holders only (if you’re not a cardholder, you can apply here)
- july 21st: sale is open to the public
- august 6th: sale ends
tell me more about early access…
in order to get early access to the #nsale and shop early on the 13th, you have to have a nordstrom card. if you apply now but the card doesn’t get here by the 13th, you still get early access, you just have to connect it to your nordstrom account. if you apply before july 9th, you also get a $20 nordstrom note to shop the sale. free money!
if you’re not trying to apply for another credit card (i get it), they have a debit card too. no sense messing with your credit if you don’t have to! you get the same early access with a debit card as with a credit card.
my 5 tips for the #nsale
make a list: there are literally thousands of items to look through. it is easier to just make a list of items and then search. for example, you know you want over-the-knee boots for fall. write that down now. search ‘over-the-knee’ in the sale and don’t just go scrolling.
apply for the credit or debit card: with a credit/debit card you get early access (apply here). shop days before everyone else. worth it!
shop early: the good stuff goes fast. it’s as simple as that. don’t wait until the last day.
shop online: i personally don’t mess around with mall shopping. just shop online and you can return what you don’t like (free shipping and free returns!) so just ‘add to cart’ and don’t stress about it!
check back often: they do restock some items throughout the sale, but nothing is guaranteed. don’t wait to purchase thinking something is going to get restocked. see ‘shop early’ point above!
