after san francisco, we started the drive down highway 1. we had a loose itinerary (we knew where we were staying every night), but other than that, we just drove and stopped as we wanted to. our first stop was half moon bay. half moon bay is a really cute coastal town with shops and restaurants. we had some sour dough bread for a snack. we hadn’t had any sour dough yet in san francisco, and thought we need to at least once while in california! we parked at the beach and walked around a little bit. half moon bay definitely has some of the prettiest coastline we’ve seen. after half moon bay, we may our way to santa cruz. tony loves walking the boardwalk and eating what he calls “fair food,” so i knew he would love this stop. we had some snacks (clearly food is very important to this road trip). tony had the deep fried artichokes and a churro, and i got a corn dog. i’m not kidding, this was the best corn dog i’ve ever had (sorry, minnesota state fair included!) after santa cruz, we were headed for carmel! i will share more on camel soon, can’t wait! my half moon bae. tony loves the number 5. we see them everywhere!
