tony found a great deal on a 5 night cruise on royal caribbean and thought it would be fun to go on an “adult spring break” with our friends joe and holly. tony brought it up to them, and of course they were in for a good time. after months of planning and anticipation, it was finally here!
we had two “at sea” days while we were on the cruise. holly and i pretty much just laid out in the sun and had cocktails (why wouldn’t you, right?). there were plenty of chairs and good spots to get sun, and the pool had a lot of fun activities going on throughout the day. the guys aren’t that interested in laying out (isn’t that always the case?) luckily, royal caribbean has a lot of fun things to do for those that don’t want to lay by the pool. tony and joe enjoyed the golf simulator, mini golf, and the casino. the ship also had a climbing wall, flowrider wave simulator, basketball, spa, and many more activities that we didn’t have time to try. i love that cruises have something for everyone. its perfect for a family or group of friends that want to split up and do their own thing but also do things together.
i think our very favorite part about going on a cruise is the food. so much food. we usually went to the windjammer buffet for lunch, and always ate dinner in the dining room. my favorites were probably the escargot, duck, and lobster (coming from the foodie of course). tony loved the steak sliders, pastas, and desserts. we also loved the 24 hour (!!) pizza place in the royal promenade and the cafe that had coffee, pastries, and sandwiches. tony and i aren’t big breakfast eaters (just give us a gallon of coffee), so we would usually just stop here in the morning to get a coffee and a pastry or something.
when we checked in for the cruise, we discovered that royal caribbean had upgraded us to a balcony room! i’m not going to lie, we felt really VIP after that. we enjoyed the view during the day and also had drinks out there at night. it was fun to watch the boat come in and out of port too!
enjoying the view!
a lot of fun time by the pool!
it was very sunny and tony kept trying to wear my hat!
now that we are back at work, i am longing to be back on that big beautiful boat. until next time royal caribbean, i know we will be back! i will be sharing more about our cruise experience in the next few weeks, so make sure to come back and check it out!
royal caribbean sponsored several of our activities during our cruise, but all opinions are my own. for more information on cruising with royal caribbean, visit www.royalcaribbean.com!
