Rosie’s nursery is the first room we actually have done in our new house! I’m so excited that I finally got to give her the nursery that I always dreamed of. Don’t get me wrong, the nursery in our condo was special, but I didn’t get to do exactly what I wanted for her. This space is much larger, has windows, and a closet! I kept almost all of the items from her downtown nursery, but added a few new things as well (I had to add some pink in there, couldn’t help myself!) In case you missed the first nursery post, I am covering the original items here as well. Enjoy this special little space!
The inspiration for Rosie’s nursery is actually this wall hanging that I made. We collected all of the sea glass when we were in the Bahamas last November (we did not know we were pregnant at this point!) The day after we got back from our trip, we found out we were pregnant. I knew I wanted to use the sea glass for something in the baby’s room. Then on our babymoon in March, we collected all of the driftwood. We knew we did not want to find out the gender of the baby, so I thought a sea glass and driftwood inspired color scheme would be a perfect gender-neutral theme. After spending a few hours on Pinterest, I decided a wall hanging of some sort would be the perfect art for the nursery and a great gender-neutral inspiration for the space.
My favorite design elements in Rosie’s nursery are the rug and the blush curtains! I had the rug in her old nursery and it still fits really well in a larger room. I loved that it was a dusty blue and beige color that tied in perfectly with the natural elements I wanted to include. I like that the rug grounds the room and makes it feel not too girly.
The curtains are something I added for her new nursery. She needed blackout curtains for her naps (it makes the biggest difference!) so I found these. I wanted to get something more neutral and talked myself into the blush and I am so happy that I did. I think they really make the room! These are the 84×50 length.
Crib – I looked at cribs for awhile and finally decided on this one. I wanted one that was green certified and would work for a boy or a girl. It’s also convertible so it can be a toddler bed as well. I also like that it was a bit smaller since her original nursery was really small.
Bedskirt – I looked forever for a crib skirt that was long enough to touch the ground. In our condo, I needed to use the space under the crib to store diapers! There isn’t anything under it now, but I still like the look of a long skirt.
Bedding – I have a few different fitted sheets. This one is a print, I also have a plain white, and a chenille. This blanket is a super affordable Amazon find. Don’t forget to get a few waterproof mattress pads.
This ‘Rosie’ sign is a very cute addition to Rosie’s nursery. I ordered this sign from this Etsy shop. I was going through a pink phase right when Rosie was born and ordered a pink sign and when it came this sign was BRIGHT PINK. I ended up spray painting it this pretty rose color and I like it so much more!
I love these storage bins from Target. I have this large one which has her stuffed animals and some blankets in it (it also hides an outlet!) I have lots of the smaller ones as well in her closet to hold things like socks, shoes, etc.
I love our little changing table setup. This changing table is the one that matches the crib. I picked the smaller of the two changing tables offered because her nursery was so small. We have more space now, but I actually still really like this smaller one. Here are links to the diaper pale and changing table pad (which is also a scale!)
The art above the changing table is a bible verse that I really connected with while pregnant. I bought this from a shop on Etsy.
Ever since we moved Rosie into her own room, this little nook has played a huge role in our lives. This is where we feed Rosie and rock her to sleep. I also love to read books with her here.
Table Setup – This little table setup is something I added now that we have more space. It’s really nice to have a place to put your phone and a bottle. I found this table for under $40 and this lamp for $12. If you follow me on Instagram, you are very familiar with my milestone blocks!
The mini gallery wall has photos from our maternity session with Mackenzie Orth and they are hung in these frames.
Glider Recliner – Tony was adamant that we have a glider recliner combo in our nursery. I found this one on Wayfair and it’s pretty affordable!
This bookcase was mine as a baby. I think it’s so cute (and wicker is back in style!) I like adding little cute details to the shelves and changing it up periodically.
I picked up the little macrame wall hanging when I was pregnant in San Diego. My best friend bought me this ‘She is Strong’ sign before I even knew we were having a girl. Somehow she just knew!
The shelves are another addition now that I have more wall space! I got these shelves from Amazon and they were super easy to hang. I’ve had fun styling them up throughout the last few weeks. Here is a similar letter board (I haven’t been able to bring myself to change it since she was born!) The ‘Sleeping Bebe’ sign is from my baby shower, the vase I got in San Diego while I was pregnant, and the shell is from the Bahamas!
