Rosie is 6 months old! I can’t believe this sweet girl has been with us for half of a year! It has honestly been the best six months of my life. I am just overjoyed that I get to be her mom and that I get to hang out with her every day. She is my sidekick, mini me, and best friend.
Rosie is sweet, a little spunky, and so smart. She amazes me every day with what she is able to do and what she figures out. She is the happiest and smiliest baby! It makes my whole day to watch her face light up. Rosie, I love you with all my heart. You are the greatest gift.
Here is all about Rosie at 6 months!
WHAT ROSIE IS DOING:
- Giving herself a bottle
- Eating solids (just avocado now at 6 months)
- Rolling over
- Sitting mostly on her own (but tipping a little)
- Sleeping unswaddled in her room for 11-12 hours a night with a few short wake ups
- Sleeping on her tummy (just like her mama)
- Reacting to her name
- Babbling, yelling, and laughing a lot
- Reaching for mama (and it’s the cutest thing ever!)
- Jumping like crazy in her bouncers
FUN THINGS WE HAVE DONE LATELY:
- Went on her first flight
- Went to Mexico (her first international flight!) and got to go swimming for the first time
- Celebrated her first Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
- Played in her first big snow and went on fun rides in her new sled
- Went to to a KU basketball game and a Minnesota Wild game
- Closed on a new house and moved
- Went on a road trip to a friend’s cabin
- Met a few baby friends
- Started ECFE classes in our new school district
- Spent lots of time at the library at baby story time
PRODUCTS FOR 6 MONTHS OLD:
In this post I talk about some of my favorite products for newborns and this post has what she was loving at 3 months. At 6 months old, Rosie is BUSY! She needs a lot more stimulation and a lot more toys during the day.
Here are some of her favorite things right now:
Magic Sleep Suit – After she started rolling, we transitioned Rosie from a swaddle to this magic sleep suit. At 6 months old, she is still wearing it and sleeping close to 12 hours a night! I highly recommend it.
Doorway bouncer – This is probably the best $25 I’ve ever spent. I have it hung in the doorway between our kitchen and dining room, so she can bounce while I am in the kitchen. She is obsessed with this!
Baby Einstein bouncer – When this went on sale (it’s a little pricey), I bought it for Rosie for Christmas. We have this in our basement, and she hangs out in it while we watch TV or hang out down there. It has toys and activities on it that keep her very busy.
Sled – Another great buy at just $15. If you live in a snowy climate, this is a must. Rosie loves riding in her sled. We like to pull her on the lake or just in the driveway.
Slumberpod – We used this on our trip to Mexico and it was a trip saver. It’s essentially a blackout tent that you put over a crib or pack n play (typically when you travel) so that it’s dark for them but you can still have lights on in your hotel room.
Spiral Toy – This spiral toy wraps around the car seat bar and entertains Rosie when she in riding in the car or in her stroller. It’s also nice to keep her busy when I am trying to strap her into the car seat.
Baby Paper – Rosie’s favorite toy of all time. She got this gift at her ‘sip and see’ and she LOVES it. I keep it in the diaper bag and have it handy whenever I need to entertain her.
Thank you to the Jensens Photography for these adorable photos of Rosie.
