I am very excited about today’s post on our changing table! I haven’t quite finished the nursery yet, but the changing table is all set up! Because our small living situation is kind of unique, I thought it would be interesting to show the products we have chosen to include in our tiny nursery and also how we set it up!
Let’s get started with the must-haves!
Changing Table
We live in a pretty small condo, so a small changing table was also in order. We decided on this dresser/changing table from Pottery Barn Kids. It’s only 38 inches wide and is a great option for a small nursery. It has plenty of drawer space and there is plenty of room for baby on top. I highly recommend this dresser as an option for small-space living! We opted to not get the changing table topper because I didn’t want to mess with the laundry that a pad requires!
Ubbi Diaper Pail
This Ubbi diaper pail is one of the most recommended items from both followers and friends! When I saw how easy it was to use (and clean) I was sold! It’s made of metal, which I’ve heard hides the odor super well. Baby isn’t here yet (so I can’t confirm that!) but there are so many good reviews. I also like the sleek design and think it looks really nice in the nursery. I can’t wait to try this diaper pail out!
Other Must Haves
Ointment/Lotions/Hand Sanitizer: I have a few different brands of products right now, and I am going to see what works well for our baby. I’ve heard great things about Tubby Todd, so we’ll see what is working well.
Wipes and Diapers: I chose to get the Pampers Pure brand of both wipes and diapers. The ‘Pure’ line is chlorine-free, plant-based, and has no fragrance but still has the performance of Pampers. I am excited to try these out for baby!
How The Changing Table is Organized
I first have to give a shoutout to my mom and mother-in-law who came over and organized everything! They’re the best! I purchased these drawer organizers from Ikea. They come in packs of 6 and are various sizes. I purchased 4 packages and we only ended up using 3. The packs are only $6 so it’s definitely worth getting a few extra!
The first three drawers have all of the ‘diaper changing’ related items. My mom suggested the diapers in the furthest right drawer since I’m right-handed. I have the wipes in the middle drawer and the other products in the left. The smallest size of the drawer organizers work really well for all of the little items on the left.
In the left drawer above I have all of the newborn and 0-3 month onesies and pants. This will be nice for baby’s outfit changes and blow outs! In the right drawer I have burp cloths, bibs, and white onesies. These will be the items that I need on a more very regular basis. The long rectangular inserts worked really well for all of the onesies and the small square ones have the burp cloths, bibs, and onesies.
The bottom drawer (the largest!) has kind of a variety of items. First, I put all of our swaddles, sleep sacks, and baby wraps. These items are the largest so they needed the largest drawer. I also put items that I won’t need to use as much, mainly seasonal items.
