here are some fun photos from our day in west hollywood. i had to go to LA for work, and tony met me for the weekend. he came in late friday and we had to leave on sunday so we basically had one full day to walk around and check out the area. we stayed at the standard hotel. my friend recommended this hotel for the location and it was perfect! we were able to walk everywhere we wanted in west hollywood and there were a lot of great bars and restaurants near the hotel. they also have an amazing pool! on my wishlist was to check out some of cool street art in west hollywood (this is one my favorite things to do!) so we spent a lot of the day just walking around. we also had brunch at the hudson (mimosa carafe for $12!), geeked out a little bit at sur (vanderpump rules anyone?!), and ended the day at a bar called barney’s beanery where we had an actual celebrity sighting! nick swardson (a fellow minnesotan) was watching the wild game. fun day in la la land! this is the lobby of the standard. i loved these chairs!!LA was in full bloom when we were there. it was so gorgeous! i’m not kidding when i say that the roses outside of a liquor store were prettier than pretty much any flowers in minnesota. i feel bad saying that… but so true!
this is alfred’s coffee on melrose. they are famous for their “but first, coffee” mural inside. this is the infamous “alley” outside of sur where they are always arguing on vanderpump. i say “alley” because right next to me is a parking lot with a bunch of cars. it’s interesting how they can make things look on tv! so much fun street art! i kept seeing these smiley faces everywhere. if anyone knows anything about them, let me know! this is the famous pink wall in west hollywood. i just had to!! right? if you are trying to see this, it is on the side of paul smith so just look that up! selfie saturday! this ‘made in la’ street art is on the side of cisco home. so again, just look this up if you are in west hollywood. tony was like, “you want to go to cisco’s home? that’s the celebrity home you want to see?”
finished the weekend at the pool. isn’t this pool amazing?! warning: you must love extremely loud music. i feel old saying that, but they have a DJ playing SUPER loud music. this is not sponsored by the way, just loved this hotel!
see you later LA! also hopefully you already saw this post but the sunglasses i wore all weekend are from nora nyc. 10% off with code NewShades!
